“To work on bike” even this year again!

As in previous years, we are traditionally participating in May challenge called “To work on bike.” We have six teams in our company and together they have achieved to cover more than two and half thousand kilometres!

This year had the Event adjusted rules due to coronavirus pandemic, because regime of home office work has cut a lot of travel to our work. It was possible this year to register any kind of travel (including going for a walk of going to shopping) absolved by non-powered vehicles or on foot.

For the best ones is awaiting awards for invested efforts. We are congratulating to all our workers, who participate, to achieved kilometres on their ways!

Center of Testing Samples ŠKODA AUTO | Arch.Design

Nearby of historical centre of Mladá Boleslav city is finishing building of object of Centre of Testing Samples for which our atelier A3 worked out architectonic study. We provided architect’s supervision during the whole design and building work.

New industrial object is build on place of original warehouses in Mladá Boleslav City close to Česany village, where is placed the oldest part of manufacturing plant of ŠKODA AUTO. Contiguous built-up area is composed of three objects. These objects have similar character as Centre of Testing Samples, but with look and height differences. Designed building compositionaly respects place and orientation of surroundings. Opticaly it is a parted into two parts, due to achieve relief of material of object. Facade of building was designed to opticaly reduce almost seven floors of object. To help enhance optical reduction of building height are there combine vertical windows throught the storeys.

Floors are solved unsually. Height level of main entrance is on level of ground, but first fully valuable floor is situated on the second floor. This solution was choosen due to flood control prevention because of nearby river Jizera.

PENZION ZNOJMO – a study of a family guesthouse

The A6 Studio prepared the architectural study of a family-owned guesthouse.

The study was prepared for a location at the end of the Sedlešovice municipality near Znojmo. The site connects to the preservation zone of Modré sklepy wine cellars. This wine micro-region Modré Hory (Blue Mountains) covers five Moravian wine-growing villages, with the town of Velké Pavlovice in the southernmost tip of Moravia being the their leader. The guesthouse was designed as a set of three structures: the main building with a restaurant, accommodation capacity and backrooms for the entire premises, a structure for accommodation with six apartments and a technical structure. The guesthouse will be primarily used during the summer months for those interested in cycling.

The mass of the premises constitutes two simple structures with two storeys above ground with a saddle roof which carefully supplements the nature of adjacent development. The architecture is simple and up-to-date.

Arch.Design studios have worked on projects for McDonald’s for a long time

One of our long-term clients is the fast-food chain McDonald’s for which we have prepared in our studios designs of new restaurants and McCafés as well as designs of civil upgrades of existing stores.

One of our long-term clients is the fast-food chain McDonald’s for which we have prepared in our studios designs of new restaurants and McCafés as well as designs of civil upgrades of existing stores.

This year McDonald’s celebrated 25 years since its founding in the Czech Republic and comes with a modernisation concept for its restaurants. It is a concept that brings a more up-to-date and faster menu selection thanks to the latest technologies and separates the ordering section from the distribution section.

Thanks to the new concept, some existing restaurants have already undergone the design upgrade of the environment which now offers an appealing colour scheme and new self-service ordering stands. The self-service stands will make it easier for customers to select and compile their menu according to their tastes. The customer can now choose and compile his/her own menu from the entire selection offered at McDonald’s.

In our Arch.Design studios we design:

  • McD SPA remodelings
  • new McD (New openings)

The people from Arch.Design have already worked on more than 35 McDonald’s branches.

Opening ceremony of a new hall of the Primary School in Židlochovice

On Sept 1, 2017 an Open Day took place in the new extension to the primary school in Židlochovice.

The design comes from the architectural and design studio Arch.Design. The design concept consists in the creation of a lapidary mass which will – in its pure form – allow the pupils and teachers post-shape the space around them according to their own current needs.

The overall visual appearance of the building will therefore vary over time. The elementary mass solution enables compliance with passive building standard requirements for which the structure was designed.

It was already during the design that great emphasis was placed on the air-tightness of the building shell. BlowerDoor tests were performed within the building, the main purpose of which was to detect possible deficiencies and leaks in the building shell. Only a few leaking points were found and they were quickly fixed. Everything ended up very well, the air-tightness of the building is on a very high level and the passive standard is met. Now the building is completed and ready for the new school year to welcome its pupils.

The design, which Arch.Design prepared, includes the interior design which is generally more “fun” when compared with the conservative facade. The reason is that the interior is intended for the younger pupils. A distinct element in the generous open space of the corridors is the railing of the main staircase. Its colour scheme was achieved by using a variable, grading colour range. On top of that, the room entrances, building entrances and the individual functional areas are highlighted. The decorative design concept of the individual elements is not a purely aesthetic matter, but shall primarily improve orientation in space.

The tape cutting ceremony was also attended by the mayor of the town of Židlochovice Ing. Jan Vitula, the primary school director Ing. Jana Králová and of course the representative of Arch.Design Ing. Ivo Kovalík – CEO, Ing. arch. Michal Šírek and Igor Sedlák.

We wish the pupils from Židlochovice and their teachers a successful school year 2017/2018!

Rezidence Juliana has obtained the occupancy permit

Situated on the edge of the old Juliánov district, the Rezidence Juliana project has been completed

The address “Líšeňská” was assigned to three apartment houses. The apartments were handed to their owners in August. The owners of 66 new apartments can now start living in their new location. The location of the new residential complex directly touches the protected nature site: the forest park of Bílá Hora. The whole project, including the newly built transport infrastructure and soft landscaping with a children’s playground, contributed to the cultivation of the existing environment.

More information about the Juliana project.

We wish all new residents of Rezidence Juliana a happy life in their new homes.

The Zahradníkova Polyclinic building has seen the first reconstruction phase completed

The building of the existing Zahradníkova Polyclinic, which was built between 1922-1924 and 1927-1928, gained a more up-to-date appearance thanks to the restoration of its facade that is subject to preservation

The Zahradníkova Polyclinic is the centre for a number of general practitioners as well as the out-patient clinic of specialised physicians. There are an operating theatre, rehabilitation, laboratory, pharmacy and other facilities in the building, serving the needs of the polyclinic.

The Zahradníkova Polyclinic structure is a cultural monument and lies in the Protected Area of the Brno City Preservation Zone. The Polyclinic building (originally the Ambulatorium) was built in the late 20th century in the functionalist style according to the design of architect Jindřich Kumpošt (1891-1968). The adjoining apartment house Veveří 64 was later connected to the building. (Find more information on the history of this building here.)

The project involved the execution of Phase I of the reconstruction where the culturally protected facade in street Zahradníkova 2-4 was restored, the facade in street Veveří 64 was reconstructed and a new LV switching station was built instead of the original substation.

The polyclinic building has been preserved in terms of its mass, layout, exterior and interior with original architectural features and details such as “American” windows and travertine wall tiles.

You can check the outcome of the reconstruction of the polyclinic building on the photos below.

NFA opened new depository premises for storing film material

Attended by the Minister of Culture Daniel Herman, the governor Central Bohemian Region Jaroslava Jermanová Pokorná and the NFA CEO Michal Bregant, the new depository of the National Film Archive (NFA) saw its opening ceremony.

The new, technologically advanced building, located in the Hradištko municipality in the Central Bohemia Region, will provide a perfect environment for long-term storage of film material. The depository space and its technical equipment ensure the ideal temperature of -5°C and a relative humidity of 35%. These values were chosen as the optimum values for the protection of film materials and for ensuring their service life of up to 400 years.

Our company participated in the depository project, worth CZK 155 million, as the chief designer and the design was prepared by Ing. arch Martin Kotík. The new depository project was funded under the Programme “Care for the National Cultural Treasure” of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

We are finishing the Panorama Kociánka I project in the attractive location Sadová

Clean living environment in the closest proximity to a forest, public transportation system connections and amazing views of the Brno skyline. The state-of-the-art residential compound Panorama Kociánka will soon offer all this to its new residents.

The Panorama Kociánka development will be soon completed on land plots that used to be gardens or were unused. The new owners will soon start enjoying their new homes in the attractive location of Brno – north, towards Soběšice. The design concept of the low-rise apartment buildings consequently respects the Urban Development Plan of Brno. The architecture of the Panorama Kociánka buildings does not create a closed structure against existing and other future buildings, but leads to high transparency of the individual structures and does not disrupt their unique panoramic views of Brno.

The landscaping, roads and children’s playground in the inner yard will soon be completed.

New and hopefully satisfied owners-occupiers will soon start using the premises. Would you like to live in this location?

Then check the website of this modern residential project.
